Christmas is about the Creator of the universe, who is not himself part of the universe, moving himself, in the person of his Son, into the universe that he made.
—John Piper
Although our society has muddied the message of Christmas through consumerism, myths and empty traditions, we should not let these distract us from appreciating the real meaning of Christmas. Let us take advantage of this opportunity to remember Him, worship Him and faithfully witness of Him.
—John MacArthur
The Son of God became a man to enable men to become the sons of God.

Randy with Make Way Partners
President Kimberly Smith |
It was both an enjoyable and heart-wrenching time for the EPM staff when they had a visit last month from Kimberly Smith, president of Make Way Partners.
MWP is a ministry dedicated to preventing and combating human trafficking and slavery. Kimberly shared about the work they are doing in Sudan providing care for 450 orphans.
“I ask God just to break my heart where His is broken and give me the courage to do something about that,” Kimberly said.
Make Way Partners began their ministry to orphans in Sudan with a school, church and medical clinic. But with no place for the children to sleep at night, they were left vulnerable to hyenas, wild dogs, and slave raiders, and were forced to sleep in trees to escape danger. Tragically, between January and October 2006, they lost 278 children. In 2007, facing the daunting task of transporting materials from 2,000 miles away with no stable roads or airstrip, they miraculously finished a girls' dormitory right on the border of Darfur, and are currently finishing work on a boys' dorm.
Caring for the orphans is challenging, but running an orphanage in the middle of a warzone is an act of God's grace. Kimberly and the staff have a commitment to stay in Sudan no matter what and to share the gospel with the children, but they have to prepare them for whatever the future holds.
“I can’t promise you the Arabs won’t come back," Kimberly tells the children. "I can’t promise you safety on this earth—but this earth is not what it’s all about.”

EPM staff shares snowmen and smiling faces
When EPM's hometown of Sandy held its annual Community Christmas Day this December, it provided the EPM staff with the perfect opportunity to share the gospel and a fun craft with local children.
Children who stopped by the booth made a snowman ornament and received a kids' tract that told them about Jesus.
"Being a grandparent myself I especially enjoyed seeing the little ones that were brought in by loving grandparents," said Catherine Simons, EPM's secretary. |
