EPM staff attends True Woman 08

Seven of the staff and one board member
attended the True Woman Conference. |
"Yes, Lord," and "surrender" were the often-repeated refrains when over 6,300 women gathered together for the first-ever True Woman Conference, October 9-11 in Chicago, Illinois.
Seven of the EPM staff and one board member attended the conference organized by Revive Our Hearts, the ministry of Nancy Leigh DeMoss.
It was Nancy's burden to see revival and reformation in the hearts of Christian women which began what she hopes is a widespread movement.
Speakers at the conference included John Piper, Mary Kassian, Karen Loritts, and Janet Parshall, all of whom were "powerful," said EPM's Bonnie Hiestand. "They touched us where we live."
A moving part of the weekend for the EPM staff was a video presentation from Joni Eareckson Tada about how God uses the suffering in our lives. Her message was especially powerful as she was unable to speak in person at the conference due to unrelenting pain.

Nancy Leigh DeMoss speaking to 6,300
women gathered for True Woman 08. |
The conference came to a fitting close with the public reading and signing of the True Woman Manifesto, which affirms that biblical womanhood is a gift from God and exhorts women to fulfill His calling and purposes for their lives.
"What a challenge Nancy Leigh DeMoss gave us!" said Catherine Simons, one of EPM's secretaries. "She called us to prayer often and to intimacy with God and each other. Thank you, Lord, for letting us be a part of her heart ministry."
Audio, video, and articles from the conference, including the True Woman Manifesto, are available for free at the True Woman website. The EPM staff would encourage you to share these resources with the women in your life!

Randy and Nanci with Joni Eareckson
Tada and her husband Ken. |
Randy will be speaking at the Joni and Friends donors' retreat in California on November 6. He asks for your prayers as he will be sharing his heart about the unborn as well as generous giving.
Joni and Friends was founded by Joni Eareckson Tada with the goal of communicating the Gospel and equipping Christ-honoring churches worldwide to evangelize and disciple people affected by disabilities.
Randy writes about Joni's ministry: "My wife Nanci and I have spent rich time personally with Joni and her husband Ken, and we think the world of them, and those who work with them. Joni and Friends is a ministry worthy of support, an investment in eternity. What they do is close to God’s heart. I hope you take the time to visit their website and see what they’re about."

The Heaven booklet being handed
out in Zion Square in Jerusalem. |
Dwayna Litz with Lighting the Way Worldwide sent us this picture to show us how God is using the Heaven booklet in Israel. Here she hands a booklet to two men in Zion Square in New Jerusalem, just one of many she gave out during her trip to the Holy Land. Dwayna challenged those she talked with to think about life after death: "Do you know what will happen to you when you die?" |
