Following is part four of my video interview with Pastor Mark Driscoll at The Resurgence, as well as an edited transcript. This video is titled, “Are Young Pro-life evangelicals inconsistent in how they approach the issue of abortion?”
Al Mohler writes a disturbing article captured in these words: ”The normalization of abortion within the practice of medicine would be a tragedy beyond words — the embrace of death within a profession dedicated to life.”
Yesterday was the Annunciation, a Christian holy day most of us never think about. Ted Olsen, Christianity Today managing editor for news and online journalism, recently asked me my thoughts about the Annunciation and its prolife implications.
This Sunday, January 24, is Sanctity of Human Life Sunday; marking the 37th anniversary of the United States Supreme Court decision in Roe v. Wade on January 22, 1973. There is a great spiritual warfare associated with the issue of abortion.
This prolife video, "For Women Who Are Considering an Abortion," is very powerful. The woman is excellent, composed and yet vulnerable, and the human dimension is very strong. Her words about those who have had abortions, after being victims of rape and incest, are right on. Wow.
I thank God that today in virtually every part of the United States, there are abortion alternative centers that provide free pregnancy tests, free counseling, and free material and human resources to pregnant women.
Today marks the public release of the Manhattan Declaration, which Chuck Colson invited me to sign several weeks ago. After reading it, I gladly agreed to do so.
Invest in Eternity
If you’ve been impacted by our resources, we invite you to make a year-end gift before December 31. It’s the generous support of our ministry partners that enables us to continue our eternity-shaping work.
However, we’re here to serve everyone without cost, so please don’t feel obligated to give, but only as the Lord directs. As Jesus said, “Freely you have received, freely give” (Matt. 10:8).
