Anticipating What God Has Promised: “Life Promises for Eternity”
Anticipating Heaven doesn’t eliminate life’s pain, but it lessens it and puts it in perspective. Meditating on God’s eternal promises is a great pain reliever. It reminds us that suffering and death are temporary conditions.

Here’s a photo I took Saturday on Mount Lassen, at about 7,000 feet. The lake, the flowers, the sky—beauty popping up out of barrenness, all declaring God’s glory.
I just finished a short fiction project, a graphic novel (if you’re not familiar with the term, that’s an extended comic book form) that is going to be titled Eternity. It’s a story about the rich man and Lazarus from Luke 16.
I never realized how difficult and time-consuming it is to write a book until I started working for Randy many years ago. Observing the numerous stages of a book before it goes to print has given me a new appreciation for the work of an author. And what fun for Randy when he receives the first copy of his latest book in the mail—before it ever hits the bookshelves. It’s somewhat like the anticipation of the birth of a child and the day finally arrives!
Since this book has been unavailable for twenty years, and yet most of it is as relevant as when it first came out, it seemed time for a resurrection, and a thorough update and revision. We’re republishing this because—not surprisingly—women are still under stress!
