It’s been a while since I showed pics of our grandchildren. Many of you have endured sleepless nights wondering when I was going to get back to them. Now you can relax and breathe again.
A friend of ours was recently job hunting and came across an advertised opening at Planned Parenthood. Though she wasn't interested in the job there, she was interested in the terminology used in Planned Parenthood's self-description that follows

While on a recent family vacation I pulled out an advance DVD of the first episodes of Phil Vischer’s “What’s in the Bible” (whatsinthebible.com). I asked my five-year-old grandson Matthew Franklin if he wanted to watch something by the guy who created VeggieTales. Of course he did. So we watched it together, and watched it again the next day and the next, bonus features and all, until the day we had to leave. Matthew is now a devoted fan of Buck Denver and the other characters who are part of this new series which I believe has great potential.

My friends Brett and Alex Harris, on their wonderful website www.therebelution.com, cited a Wall Street Journal article about the importance of reading, and the great decline in reading among boys. I have often cited this as one of the most alarming trends of our day.
