A Tale of Four Alcorns
Someone I’d never met came up to me after I spoke at a conference.
“I’ve got a problem with you,” he said, face sour.
“Take a number,” I said.

On our recent trip to the LA area, to speak and sign books at Riverside Church and Orange County’s “Thursday nights with Greg Laurie”, Nanci and I had some fun days at Disneyland and California Adventure. It’s great to be married to my best friend, and the most fun person I know. I love you, Nan!

In May, Nanci and I spent three days with Joe Gibbs in Charlotte, North Carolina related to a book in which he asked me to write a chapter about Heaven (Game Plan for Life: A Champion's Guide to a Successful Life, coming out tomorrow, July 21). I did some filming and speaking in chapel at Joe Gibbs Racing (450 employees, 240,000 square feet of building).
Joe warned us before coming with him to the 2009 All Star Race (in a helicopter of all things, not how we normally travel), “NASCAR is a different planet.” Boy, was he right ...
This year in October (2009), it will be twenty-eight years since my mom died of cancer. It was a double date in which we went to see two new movies at Portland's Village Theatre on 122nd: the original The Odd Couple, with Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon, and The Americanization of Emily with Julie Andrews.
Forty years. Wow. I love Nanci more today than ever. She is a treasure. Fun, upbeat, delightful. You name it.
Nanci and I had a wonderful day celebrating her birthday last Sunday November 30. She loves football, so after ...
Nanci and I have had a lot of miscellaneous activities in the last few weeks. In the previous blog I mentioned Stephanie's wedding. Here are some others.
Today was Stephanie Hallman’s wedding. She's been married to Dan Anderson for three hours now. They must be both relieved and exhausted, and by now are in route to their honeymoon. God bless them.
Nanci and I and EPM staff members had a great time at the wedding and reception. Steph worked with us at EPM last year and again this year while a student at Corban college. When she returns from her honeymoon, she'll be working for us full time.
Steph's the one who conducts the book giveaways on this blog, and does a lot ...
