Our dear friend and EPM board member Robin Green sent us this note with the following poem by John Piper, introduced by his wife Noel. Robin wrote, "This poem reminded me of the importance of finishing well. May we all be as well remembered!"

The Touch of the Master's Hand

ViolinMy wife Nanci helps write and edit lessons for our church’s women’s Bible study. It’s amazing how much time these ladies invest in preparing these lessons, including many hours of direct study of God’s Word. It’s been very enriching for Nanci, and fun to see her at the dining room table day after day with open Bible and reference books.

This morning Nanci mentioned that one of her friends, Carol Klingbile, included a poem as an introduction to a lesson she wrote. I first heard this poem, written in 1921, when I was a young Christian nearly forty years ago, but it’s been off my radar screen for decades.

Those who read my post The Christian Book Expo, and "Stunned by J.I. Packer" might be interested in checking out Tangle.com, which has posted the entire video of the panel discussion "A Guided Tour of Heaven and Hell." It's a ninety minute panel, but Dr. Packer's part that stunned me was toward the end of his opening statement. If you break in at about twenty minutes into the session and watch it for a couple of minutes you'll see it, and my reaction.
