Last month I received this letter from a 10-year-old Canadian boy named Christian. He had read the Courageous novel and wanted to share with Alex and Stephen Kendrick and me what he had learned from it.
My blog on Barack Obama's proabortion stance, and the fact that various evangelical Christians are supporting and campaigning for him, has been getting lots of comments, some of them heated.
Abortion-survivor Gianna Jessen will be coming to my home church, Good Shepherd Community Church, and speaking this coming weekend, January 10-11, for an early Sanctity of Human Life Sunday. Nanci and I plan to be at the Saturday night service at 5:30 PM. The Sunday services are 9:00 AM and 10:45 AM.

While we were unable to find any real pictures of Aggie or her family, I hope this story of God's faithfulness through the sacrifice of missionary couple David and Svea Flood will inspire you. 
I've been thinking of it in context of a big book I'm writing on the problem of evil and suffering. How many times has God had a purpose in events that seemed senseless at the time they happened? How many things that seem pointless now will later be seen to have a divine point?

When revealing his greatness to Job, God shows pride in his creative works, and mentions many animals—including the lion, eagle, and ox. He takes special delight in horses, saying, "Do you give the horse his strength or clothe his neck with a flowing mane? Do you make him leap like a locust, striking terror with his proud snorting?"
