My book Why Pro-Life? was first published in 2004. With 300,000 English copies in print, and translations in 18 other languages, I have been amazed at its far-reaching impact. But in the eight years since the book was first written, technology has changed, statistics have become dated, and there are new resources, stories, and discussions. It was time for a thorough update and revision.
This Sunday, January 24, is Sanctity of Human Life Sunday; marking the 37th anniversary of the United States Supreme Court decision in Roe v. Wade on January 22, 1973. There is a great spiritual warfare associated with the issue of abortion. Killing children is Satan's way of striking out at the very heart of God. If he cannot kill God, the next best thing is killing those created in God's image. He is killing God in effigy.
With Sanctity of Human Life Sunday coming up on January 24, 2010, I'll be doing some more blogs focusing on prolife topics. Before I get to today's blog and video—which you won't want to miss—the EPM staff asked me to include a short word about my book Why Pro-Life?.
Abortion-survivor Gianna Jessen will be coming to my home church, Good Shepherd Community Church, and speaking this coming weekend, January 10-11, for an early Sanctity of Human Life Sunday. Nanci and I plan to be at the Saturday night service at 5:30 PM. The Sunday services are 9:00 AM and 10:45 AM.
