The Bible: More Than Stories
I am often hearing people say these days that God has revealed himself to us in stories, and that story, not doctrine, is the framework in which we should see our faith.
I LOVE story (which is why I’ve written and enjoyed fiction and also love good biographies). However, story is NOT everything.

This story, by an unknown author, was ciruclated years ago. It is likely fictional, as many such stories are, but think of it as a parable.
With all the attention on the NBA playoffs, it seems a fitting time to tell a basketball story.
I excerpted this from a larger post. Dr. Michael Oh is president of
J.I. Packer, author of
As I’m sure many of you are, Nanci and I have been burdened for the people of Japan. We’ve been praying for people there, especially the believers, that the gospel could be spread in the midst of devastation.
I’ve been attending and speaking at the C.S. Lewis Summer Institute at Oxbridge. Yesterday afternoon at one of the seminars, I talked about the problem of evil and suffering. We discussed how EVERY worldview must address this problem and the problem of GOOD as well. And no worldview does this as well as the biblical one.
Terry Harris gave me permission to share her story about Randy and I’m doing so, without his knowledge or permission . :) I share it not just to give recognition to Randy, but as a reminder to us all that showing kindness to others can make a significant eternal difference in more than one person’s life.
