April 27, 2016For the present, by God’s grace and kindness, people can reject God but still receive the benefits of His common grace, including the enjoyment of loving relationships, natural and artistic beauty, and pleasure. However, we live on borrowed time. We need to see creation as a revelation of God’s greatness and beauty, and turn to the great God and Savior, our Creator and Redeemer, before our lives here end.
September 25, 2015Perhaps because many environmental and animal-rights activists scorn the Bible and Christian beliefs, I believe Christians have often overreacted and ignored our stewardship job description when it comes to animals.
April 1, 2015Personally, I think it is marvelous that the universe is so vast and that God is said to have created it with His fingers. Effortless. No big thing. "He made the stars also" (Genesis 1:14), like a universe 150 billion light years across. If we could wrap our mind around the vastness of creation, it might make us think that it is small and we are bigger than we are. The truth is that creation is incomprehensibly vast and we are indeed very small.
March 13, 2015The celestial heavens declare God's glory (Psalm 19). There is so much we don't know, but astronomers are always discovering something new for which God deserves the credit. Here's one of the latest.
May 19, 2014In a sermon titled “God Rejoicing in the New Creation,” Charles Spurgeon said this: "If a man thinks that what God has made is not very good, he cannot be very good himself. In this he contradicts his God. It is a beautiful world we live in."
May 5, 2014The beautiful 4-minute time lapse video in this blog uses footage shot in Oregon.
August 30, 2013“The heavens declare the glory of God” (Psalm 19:1). So too do the accomplishments of mankind whom He created in His image, and made to reflect his glory.
June 14, 2013I love sea turtles. Some of my greatest memories are hanging out with turtles while snorkeling or diving.
April 22, 2013Why have so many Christians historically shied away from creation care? I think the answer is that concern for the environment is generally regarded as part of the liberal agenda.
March 27, 2013I recently read Steve DeWitt’s Eyes Wide Open: Enjoying God In Everything. I love the title, and I love the book. Here’s one of many things I enjoyed from the book, and we’ve added some photos and video to help you appreciate what he’s talking about.
