Recently, Kimberly Smith, founder and director of Make Way Partners, posted on her blog the story of a Sudanese orphan named Achu. Like so many orphans, Achu’s account of suffering and abandonment was heartbreaking enough, but there was more—this 15-year-old girl was suffering from a horrific open wound that threatened to take not only her leg, but her life.

Through an initiative called Just Children, they’re now working to carry out Christ’s call to be peacemakers and to care for vulnerable children.
Imagine this. . . You go to your local bookstore and begin to browse, but something is wrong. The titles sound odd. You begin to read and the situations described in the books are hard to understand—they're from another country.
I have spoken before of Make Way Partners and our sister Kimberly Smith and recommended them as a worthy ministry to support. But this recent letter about a girl named Hannan in Sudan (who Kimberly met on a recent trip), touched me on multiple levels.
I know Zach Hunter. I met him and had dinner with him and his mom after a showing of the movie Amazing Grace, that great movie on the life of the Christian parliamentarian William Wilberforce and his success in passing the laws to ban slavery in England.
I so emphatically agree with John piper's assessment of this that I'm quoting his whole blog on it. Do NOT interpret the name change as compromise, but only as good strategy.
Here at EPM, one of the ministries we have the privilege of supporting is Make Way Partners. Through the hope of the gospel, MWP goes to the most vulnerable and least protected to end human trafficking and sexual slavery.

There are three billion people worldwide with no nearby Christian or church to share the Gospel with them. They can only be reached by someone (a missionary) going to them with the Gospel.
There was a striking difference between the itinerant ministry of Jesus and the apostles as seen in the Gospels and the settled communities of Christians reflected in the later books of the New Testament.
