Deadline is the story of a politically
correct journalist forced by tragic and mysterious circumstances to
come to terms with his own mortality. In the process he must also
deal with the consequences of his skewed perspectives on life, family,
morality, and religion. Intended for believers and unbelievers.
Deadline portrays friendship, family, faith, morality,
social decline and media bias in the context of an unpredictable
and hopeful story of personal crisis and change. The second story
line, on death's other side, compliments the who-done-it mystery.
Deadline is a unique pro-family, pro-values, pro-life, pro-faith
book. It portrays the vital connection between how we think and
live in the present, and how that will inevitably impact our future,
both on earth and in eternity.
Readers' responses to Deadline:
I have been a Christian for some time now, but this book touched me as if I was a new born babe in Christ.
It re-awakened some commitments within me that I had buried in my "busy" life.

This is a great book! I loaned it to a co-worker and he gave his
heart to Christ as soon as he finished. This is great truth wrapped
in a fiction book.
P.S. If you liked this book, read Safely Home. C.

A friend just loaned Deadline to me, and it has changed
my life. It challenged my thinking, reaffirmed my beliefs, and motivated
my spiritual life. K. L.
"My words are not adequate to express to you what reading Deadline
and Dominion have done in my life. I am a mystery book reader
and you captivated me, then you gave me a glimpse of heaven that
I will never forget.
Your appreciation for the unborn and those who by earth's standard
are not perfect was so movingso much so that I copied the
section on the Down Syndrome child/man (Deadline) in heaven
and mailed it off to my Christian friends who have just had a Down
Syndrome baby boy. I saw them recently and they said that is the
vision that God gave them of their son.
Dominion changed me too. You write like you are a black
man. I read it like that too. I was raised in New Orleans, and was
a young white girl with a black housekeeper. I remember the things
people said and sitting on the back of the bus with my Tina.
I have friends from church reading Deadline now and I can't
wait for my husband to read Dominion so we can discuss it.
Thank you so much for obeying the Lord and writing such wonderful
words, words that change people and bring them closer to our Lord."

I just finished reading Deadline and it was astounding.
I was privileged to find the book as I was "shopping" in one of
our disaster stores right after Hurricane Katrina. I am a disabled
mother with Narcolepsy and lost everything I owned and am now living
in a FEMA travel trailer. As I read Deadline I found so much
joy and harmony in your words.
In my hometown life is not easy. We are still trying to pick up
after Katrina. But reading your words brought such quietness and
peace to my life. Your book reminded me that God is still on His
throne and is looking lovingly at each of his children. It reminded
me that although our lives may be changed, God never changes and
He keeps us safe and that we will not be here always. There is a
home on the other side much better than we can ever imagine.

Stu Weber, author of Tender Warrior and Locking
Arms, says this of Deadline: "Randy Alcorn has hit it
out of the park. Deadline is riveting. Motivating. Intriguing. Provocative.
And it's for mystery lovers, too. Many books feed the mind. Some
feed the heart. Deadline nourishes both. It's an exhilarating spiritual
experience. I have seldom read fiction strong enough to compel me
to read it twice. I'm giving away dozens of copies."
Frank Peretti, author of This Present Darkness,
Piercing the Darkness, The Prophet and The Oath,
says: "Randy Alcorn is a walking resource library guided by godly
wisdom. There should be no ignoring the vital message of this book."
