This

Voice
of the Martyrs Presents an Unforgettable Display at the International
Christian Retail Show
In
July, Randy traveled to Atlanta to attend ICRS, formerly known
as CBA, the Christian Booksellers Convention. (Read Randy's
blog posts The
World of Christian Writers and More
on the International Christian Retail Show for
more stories and pictures.)

Randy
said, “In that huge convention center with hundreds
of displays, the one that sticks in my mind was done by Voice
of Martyrs. It centered around a glass tomb with a shrouded
figure representing the body of a martyr. Above it were the
names of martyrs from all over the world, some going back
to the early church, some who died in 2007 in different parts
of the world.” The display included Ron DiCianni's painting
Safely Home (used as an inside cover in Randy's book
by the same title).
Voice
of the Martyrs is a non-profit, interdenominational organization
with a vision for aiding Christians around the world who are
being persecuted for their faith in Christ, fulfilling the
Great Commission, and educating the world about the ongoing
persecution of Christians. VOM
has over 30 offices worldwide with staff members
from many different denominations, all
working with the common goal of
helping the suffering church.(www.persecution.com)
More
than 70 million Christians have been martyred for their faith
since 33 AD. This year an estimated 160,000 believers will
die at the hands of their oppressors and over 200 million
will be persecuted, arrested, tortured, beaten or jailed.
In many nations it is illegal to own a Bible, share your faith,
change your faith or allow children under 18 to attend a religious
service.
Nations
where Christians are frequently persecuted include Afghanistan,
Bhutan, Colombia, Iran, Laos, China, Nepal, Syria, Turkey,
and many more.

EPM Announces
New Administrator Jay Echternach
We're
pleased to announce that Jay Echternach has joined the
EPMstaff as our administrator! Jay has been on the EPM board
of directors for 12 years.
Randy
says, “Jay has a rich experience in business and sales
that includes years working as Multnomah Publisher’s
Vice President of Sales. His combination of giftings and experience
and his heart for the Lord will greatly benefit us all.
We believe God has faithfully provided just the right person
for this much-needed position. I couldn't be happier that
God has brought us Jay.”
Prayer Requests
We
at Eternal Perspective Ministries value your continued prayers,
as we are about to move into a larger office in our present
building. The Lord provided additional office space just at
the time our much-needed administrator was hired. Remodeling
is under way, and we hope to be moved and "settled" by the
first week of September!
Due
to the office remodel, added personnel (including a new web
designer who will update and improve our website), Randy’s
need to upgrade from an old and failing computer, need for
an updated phone system, etc., a wave of expenses has suddenly
fallen upon us. Ironically, this is at a time when giving
has been at its lowest (which is typically true in August).
We almost never share our financial needs at EPM, but once
in a while it seems right to mention them. Our one-time expenses
with all these projects is approximately $25,000. We’ll
also have an increased monthly need as well, for our administrator’s
salary, website designer, etc.
We
would appreciate your prayers for God’s provision during
this time. He has always been faithful to provide, and we
know He’ll continue to do so. If you wish to invest
in this ministry, whether periodically or regularly, we humbly
welcome your partnership. But regardless of whether God so
leads you, we want you to benefit from our ministry. If you
haven’t been to our website lately, you may enjoy the
great number of resources offered there, at www.epm.org.
Please
note: Our address will remain the same, with the exception
of our suite number, which will change from 200 to 206.
