How did Eternal Perspective Ministries begin?

I'm often asked about the abortion clinic lawsuits that led to my resignation as a pastor, and the beginning of Eternal Perspective Ministries. I've been asked why I haven't written more about this. I guess it's because I don't want to leave the wrong impression of self-congratulation. (Believe me, I'm aware of my own unworthiness.) I and others involved were in no sense heroes in this episode. In short, we were more than many people thought (those, Christians and nonchristians, who believed the newspapers) and a lot less than others thought (those Christians who pedestalize people who are simply and imperfectly trying to be faithful to God's calling).
