I had a great two-part conversation with Dennis Rainey for his podcast “Inspiring Courageous Faith.” In part two, we talked about faith, Heaven, and the realities that shape courageous living.

I’ve long appreciated Dennis Rainey, a great brother. Dennis has a new podcast called “Inspiring Courageous Faith.” He and I had a great conversation, and in part one we talked about my wife Nanci’s cancer, my grief since she went to be with Jesus, and God’s sovereignty.

Last year, I was a guest on the Building Excellence Podcast with Bailey Miles. Bailey asked me some great questions, including about coming to faith, how I got into ministry, and my experience of becoming a writer. We also talked about mentorship, stewardship, sports, and adversity.

Randy and Bailey discussed mentorship, stewardship, and how adversity affects faith, as well as the role sports played in Randy’s life and the characteristics of a good coach.

Today is the 33rd anniversary of the death of my childhood best friend, Jerry. In God’s providence, earlier this summer I ran across my 2007 blog about him. I’m reposting it in honor of my friend, and in the hope that readers will find this tribute to friendship to be encouraging. 

This Wednesday, October 8, is the 44th anniversary of the death of my precious mother, Lucille Vivian Tovrea Alcorn. Hardly a day goes by where I don’t think of her and thank God for her.

Our grandson Jake got married to Richie in Phoenix on June 20, the first of our five grandsons to get married. Getting to know Richie, and gaining a granddaughter has been delightful! Their wedding was beautiful and wonderful.
