I have been married for seven years, during this time our main method of birth control has been the Vaginal Contraceptive Film, it is spermicidal film that contains Nonoxynol-9. I was always under the impression that it was safe to use, but I was also under the impression that the "pill" was safe too. I have started asking myself lately if it really is safe. First what effects are this spermicide having on my overall health, second what happens if the spermicide travels into my uterus, is it strong enough to kill a fertilized egg, or what if the spermicide only partially damages the sperm, could this cause birth defects? All of these questions have been tormenting me lately? Does anyone have information that could relieve my fears or confirm them so I can make a change. Thanks you!
