What is your response to the latest news that Plan B does not cause abortions?

This is a very sensitive and important topic.

Since there is no way to prove exactly what is preventing women who take Plan B from getting pregnant, the best course of action is to consider the consequences and make an informed decision.

Am I making too much money in my healthcare profession and adding to others problems of consumer spending and insufficient giving?

Question from a reader:

I’m a healthcare professional and charge a monthly fee for some specific health training benefits to help clients further improve their strength and fitness. But I’m wondering if I’m doing something wrong/ungodly with this type of extra service. My concern is that I don't want to add to problems of consumer spending, insufficient tithing and giving and helping the poor, and of interfering with savings. Perhaps I need to brainstorm a different price structure?

Was the scene of the demon-possessed Buddhist monk in Safely Home inspired by a true story?

Question from a reader:

I recently hosted a book club for Safely Home. Most people really enjoyed it, and it seemed to give everyone a lot of food for thought on Heaven. But the one complaint I heard several times was the part about the Buddhist monk who appears to be demon possessed. People said they felt it was too forced and bizarre. Can you give any insight as to where that scene comes from? Randy, did you know of a particular event like this?

Did Jesus take on the hell we deserve?

Question from a reader:

On page 35 of the revised edition of Heaven, what do you mean when you write that Jesus took on the hell we deserve? I cannot explain this statement biblically. I can say that He took on our sins, that He faced the enemy on our behalf by dying, but did He really? Did He literally?

Are there Scriptures that support conception beginning at fertilization as opposed to implantation?

Question from a reader:

I’ve been studying Scripture to find verses that support conception beginning at fertilization but have only found one that might qualify..... I believe that one can argue successfully that conception equals fertilization from a biological standpoint, but can one argue successfully from a Biblical one?

Is it okay to smoke marijuana if I have a medical permit?

Question from a reader:

If everything God made is good, then what do you think about marijuana? It's obvious that God made opiates for a reason but man perverted their purpose and turned them into a sin. However, marijuana doesn't seem to have any purpose except to smoke it and relieve pain and anxiety (which is why I have a medical card). Obviously man turned this into a great evil too, but can it be used properly? I don't abuse it but I would be lying if I said I didn't enjoy getting high just like some people enjoy having a drink or two. What do you think? I don't feel particularly convicted about this either. Should I be?
