Tony Dungy Makes Super Bowl Stop to Speak at Athletes in Action Breakfast

Note from Randy: Nanci and I attended the Athletes in Action breakfast spoken about in the following article. Tony’s message was perhaps the most powerful Holy Spirit-anointed presentation by any celebrity, sports or otherwise, I have ever heard. The richness, the depth, the pain and joy of it were beyond words.

DETROIT, Mich.—They were there for breakfast, and they were there to cheer New York Jets running back Curtis Martin.

And it was Martin who received the Athletes in Action Bart Starr Award Saturday morning, but the hundreds who gathered in the fourth-floor ballroom at the Marriott Renaissance ...

What do you think of George Barna’s book Revolution?

When it comes to church involvement, many in previous generations struggled with legalism. Today many struggle with the opposite–license. Legalists need to learn Christian liberty. Those struggling with license–freedom abused–need to learn not liberty per se, but spiritual discipline.

So how does this “revolution” foster the spiritual discipline of submitting to authority and following leadership we don’t always agree with? Why isn’t the name of Jesus spoken in the movie End of the Spear?

We believe that this proclamation of Jesus is both true to the story, and at the heart of why the Waodani could believe and be transformed. This is also a very compelling way for someone who has never thought about Jesus, to consider Him. It was only by witnessing the actions of people who lived the words of Jesus Christ that the Waodani were able to believe, we think the same is true for many hearts around the world, and to them Jesus in action is the only thing that speaks truthfully.

Perspectives on End of the Spear and the Chad Allen Controversy

I have spent hours on the phone in the last week with End of the Spear producers Mart Green and Steve Saint.

What is your view about “killing vs. murder”?

The attacks of September 11 and the resulting war against terrorism have brought to the front once again the question of the Christian view of war.

Expect Impact on Muslims

Two things in the End of the Spear movie make it useful for dialog with Muslims about problems we are experiencing from published cartoons of Mohammed.
