1 Corinthians 15:42-44 and the Spiritual Body (video)

Randy Alcorn discusses the spiritual body spoken of in 1 Corinthians 15 and why the spiritual body in this passage does not minimize the physicality of the resurrection. This video clip was excerpted from Randy's Eternity 101 DVD class, available at http://www.epm.org/store/product/eternity-101/

Abortion in the Bible and Church History

There is a small but influential circle of prochoice advocates who claim to base their beliefs on the Bible. They maintain that “nowhere does the Bible prohibit abortion.” Yet the Bible clearly prohibits the killing of innocent people (Exodus 20:13). All that is necessary to prove a biblical prohibition of abortion is to demonstrate that the Bible considers the unborn to be human beings.

Are Jesus and God the same entity as members of the Trinity?

Jesus said in John 10: "I and the Father are One." Jesus is God and the Holy Spirit is God; the Son is God and the Father is God.

Are the gates of the Holy City in Revelation 21 and 22 the demarcation line between two different groups of people?

You are correct to observe that often the imagery of being in or outside of a city wall means the difference between being in relationship or not. In the Gospels, study out "cast into outer darkness" and what that means, in regard to the walls and gates of a walled city. And look just how big the walls of this city are! The city is secure from the evil ones.

Are the riches for the faithful steward in Luke 16:11 both a present and eternal reward?

Question from a reader:

I have always viewed the true riches offered as a reward to the faithful steward in Luke 16:11 as both a present and eternal reward. Am I off base in my position?

Answer from Randy Alcorn:

God rewards us in various ways in this life, including the internal personal blessings of contentment, joy, etc., and certainly sometimes materially, as Jesus made clear in Luke 6. A person can enjoy the material benefits of his work. I just think God has different reasons for entrusting wealth to us than we sometimes assume (e.g. health and wealth gospel vs. enabling us to give more)...

As I read Genesis 1, the word “let” keeps bouncing out at me. What do you think?

Question from a reader:

As I read Genesis 1 over and over again, the word “let” keeps bouncing out at me.  GOD “let” there be light.  GOD “let” there be firmament.  GOD “let” the waters gather together.  GOD “let” the Earth bring forth grass. God “let” there be light, etc.

A.W. Tozer and the Tenuous Hope (video)

Randy Alcorn quotes A.W. Tozer and discusses and other Christians who address the danger of believing God is too kind to punish the ungodly. This video clip was excerpted from Randy's Eternity 101 DVD class, available at http://www.epm.org/store/product/eternity-101/
