Resources: Marriage and Family

Are we in adultery in view of Matthew 19 to marry again after divorce?

The key to your question is understanding the meaning of "commits adultery" in Matthew 19:9.

Before I Give You Away: A Parent’s Thoughts on Marriage

Of all the strengths you bring into a marriage, none is more valuable than your character. That may not sound as exotic as romance, wit, or charm, but character is the beam that holds the structure together.

Changing Christmas in our Families and in our Hearts

ChristmasWorldBallsAn alarming number of children from Christian homes grow up grasping for every item they can lay
their hands on. Children raised in such an atmosphere—which includes most children in America—are afflicted with a killer disease called “affluenza.”

Changing The Definition Of Marriage

Marriage may not change in God’s sight, but it does in man’s. Those who wonder what the family values debate is about can find out by looking at different editions of Webster’s Dictionary.

Webster’s Dictionary, 1828. Marriage: The act of uniting a man and a woman for life; wedlock; the legal union of man and woman for life. A contract both civil and religious, by which the parties engage to live together in marital affection and fidelity, till death shall separate them. Marriage was instituted by God himself for the purpose of preventing the promiscuous intercourse of the sexes, for the promoting of felicity, and for securing the maintenance and education of children. Charles Spurgeon on Marriage

Charles Spurgeon“Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church.” — Ephesians 5:25 What a golden example Christ gives to His disciples! Children: Three Views

Confidential Insurance Coverage for Teenage Abortions

How would you feel if your 13-year-old daughter went to visit the doctor, was referred to Lovejoy Surgicenter for an abortion, and your insurance company paid for it without you ever knowing?

According to an agent of Kaiser Permanente, Kaiser sends patients seeking abortions to Lovejoy and Kaiser covers the cost. At the age of 13 a child is recognized as having a confidential doctor/patient relationship at Kaiser, essentially treating a 13-year-old the same as you would an adult. A Kaiser employee verified the reason the parents wouldn’t receive notification of an insurance claim is based not so much on a written policy as it is just the way their system works. They promote having little or no paperwork for treatment received. If a co-pay is made, there is no reason to send out anything.

Cultivating Your Marriage
