My Journey as a Christian Writer
In 1970, when I was sixteen and a new Christian, friends invited me to an evening class on the Gospel of John taught by John G. Mitchell, one of Multnomah School of the Bible’s founders. I became hooked on Bible study and knew my future was at Multnomah.
I completed my bachelor’s work in 1975, married my favorite Multnomah student, Nanci, and soon entered the school’s new master’s program. One of my favorite theology professors, Dr. Joseph Wong, scratched on a term paper: “You should consider being a writer.” I took it to heart. (And have ...

What did you think of the Left Behind series by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins?
Though I know and respect Jerry Jenkins and Tim LaHaye, I haven’t read the Left Behind series. There are various orthodox positions as well as countless speculations about the end times, and I’m not certain which are correct. I do know that Jesus is coming and that He will reign over a New Heavens and New Earth.

Quality Christian Novels: an Oxymoron?
Recently, I overheard a Christian leader rave about various novels he’d read. When asked if he’d read a particular Christian novelist, he replied, “I never read Christian fiction.”
“Why not?”
“It’s predictable and sugar-coated; preachy, and poorly written!”
“Can you give some examples?” I asked.
He couldn’t. Not one. He’d read his last Christian novel over twenty years ago. I politely suggested that he may not be in the best position to say what it’s currently like.
