I have been living with my boyfriend for the past year and now have a very strong desire to do what is right. Should I separate from him and pray that he will accept the Lord?

I have just read The Ishbane Conspiracy and Lord Foulgrin’s Letters. I have been living with my boyfriend for the past year and now have a very strong desire to do what is right. Should I separate from him and pray that he will accept the Lord? Or should I remain celibate until we can urgently get married and then try to be a 100% biblical wife, and by being Christlike he may come to the Lord? I’m also afraid he might do something irrational if I move out.

I am engaged to a great guy, but he is not a believer. What should I do?

Spiritual incompatibility ends up in tragedy and usually divorce.

How broad is the command to not be “unequally yoked”?

wedding ringsQuestion from a reader:

The ”unequally yoked” passage (2 Corinthians 6:14) is usually applied to marriage. What about business associations? How far does it go?

Further, what about Ephesians 5:7 which says: “Therefore do not be partners with them”? It is referring to: “Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving. For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a man is an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God”?

And how does all this square with ...

Charles Spurgeon on Marriage

Charles Spurgeon“Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church.” — Ephesians 5:25 What a golden example Christ gives to His disciples! Few masters could venture to say, “If you would practice my teaching, imitate my life;” but as the life of Jesus is the exact transcript of perfect virtue, He can point to Himself as the paragon of holiness, as well as the teacher of it. The Christian should take nothing short of Christ for his model. Under no circumstances ought we to be content unless we reflect the grace which was in Him. As a husband, the ...

Changing The Definition Of Marriage

Marriage may not change in God’s sight, but it does in man’s. Those who wonder what the family values debate is about can find out by looking at different editions of Webster’s Dictionary.

Webster’s Dictionary, 1828. Marriage: The act of uniting a man and a woman for life; wedlock; the legal union of man and woman for life. A contract both civil and religious, by which the parties engage to live together in marital affection and fidelity, till death shall separate them. Marriage was instituted by God himself for the purpose of preventing the promiscuous intercourse of the sexes, for the promoting of felicity, and for securing the maintenance and education of children. Marriage is honorable in all and the bed undefiled (Hebrews 13).

How should a wife respond if she wants to give more than her husband?

I think showing him the depth of her conviction through her own giving is part of that example.

Will there be marriage in Heaven?

In Heaven there will be one marriage, not many. That marriage will be what earthly marriage symbolized and pointed to, the marriage of Christ to his bride. So we will all be married—but to Christ.

Will there be privacy in heaven?

The existence of our own individual dwelling places implies privacy. We are also told Christ will give new names to the righteous, known only between him and them (Rev. 2:17).

Before I Give You Away: A Parent’s Thoughts on Marriage

Of all the strengths you bring into a marriage, none is more valuable than your character. That may not sound as exotic as romance, wit, or charm, but character is the beam that holds the structure together.
