Readers’ Responses to 50 Days of Heaven

50 Days of HeavenThe Bible actually has quite a lot to say about Heaven. Randy Alcorn’s 50 Days of Heaven presents us with an easy but profound read that takes away much of the mystery about life after death. Randy uses the Bible as the foundation of his work. He’s done a good job of presenting a reasonable biblical point of view about Heaven and what life will be like there. Although I strongly recommend this book, I have to remind the readers that Randy does draw conclusions about what is implied in the Scripture verses he uses. I’d recommend this book for anyone who fears death, anyone who realizes someone they love is dying, and those who want to better understand life after we leave this earth. I found it to be very uplifting and encouraging. This book is written in 50 devotional readings. Randy has also written a more exhaustive book called Heaven for those who are up for a more in-depth look at this subject. — P. M.

Readers’ Responses to 90 Days of God’s Goodness

90 Days coverAt times, life throws us challenges. Sometimes those challenges can lead us to a dark, maybe depressive, place; however, this devotional challenges us to rely on the One who created us for a specific reason. 90 Days of God's Goodness by Randy Alcorn is another great devotional with daily reflections that shine light on personal darkness.

Readers’ Responses to Courageous

Courageous CoverI just read the Courageous novel yesterday. That's right.....all 375 pages in one day. It was incredible! The best $11 I have spent in a long while. And the best book I can remember reading. Time to apply it all now! Go get the book, or better yet, gift it to someone! -M.H.

Readers’ Responses to Deadline

DeadlineThis was such an exciting, suspenseful, Christian mystery novel. It contained wonderful and thorough character development. One really gets drawn into the story of these three guys and their families. The moral and social issues that are examined are thought-provoking. This book hooked me from the first page and dragged me at breakneck speed on a thrill ride. I really felt like I knew these people, and was very concerned for my friends! The author succeeded on so many levels to make this book a joy to read. — C. H.

Readers’ Responses to Deception

DeceptionI just finished reading Deception. I enjoyed the mystery and humor so much that I read a passage aloud to my husband, and then had to hurry and finish the book so he could read it. The most moving parts to me were the commentaries “from heaven” made toward the goings-on of Earth. Coming up this April 13th is the first anniversary of the passing of my 54-year-old mother into her new address—Heaven. To quote Ollie: “…we couldn’t own her any more than you can own…a sunset…when they’re gone, instead of being mad, maybe you should just be grateful they were there for you in the first place.” Thanks for the fun and touching read during a challenging time. — C. S.

Readers’ Responses to Does The Birth Control Pill Cause Abortions?

Does the Birth Control Pill Cause Abortions?Family physician stops prescribing all forms of hormonal contraception.
I am a family physician in Canada and a follower of Jesus Christ. I was recently given a copy of Does the Birth Control Pill cause Abortions? I was trained in the 1980s and believed that the pill worked by preventing ovulation. After a month of study and prayer, I have decided to stop prescribing all forms of hormonal contraception.

Readers’ Responses to Dominion

DominionA shocking murder drags black newspaper columnist Clarence Abernathy into the disorienting world of inner-city gangs and racial conflict. In a desperate hunt for answers to the violence (and to his own struggles with race and faith), Clarence forges an unlikely partnership with redneck detective Ollie Chandler. Despite their differences, Clarence and Ollie soon find themselves sharing the same mission: victory over the forces of darkness vying for dominion.
Filled with insight—and with characters so real you’ll never forget them—Dominion is a dramatic story of spiritual searching, racial reconciliation, and hope.
I don’t know when I have read a novel that affected me so profoundly. Randy Alcorn has combined a superb mystery/detective story with a lesson in racial relations in America, gang dynamics and symbols, Christian values, and spiritual warfare. — D. K.

Readers’ Responses to Edge of Eternity

Edge of Eternity

I have read most of Randy Alcorn’s books. But Edge of Eternity was one of the few fiction books that changed my life. Even twelve years after reading it the first time, it still impacts me. — J. O.

Readers’ Responses to Eternal Perspectives

Eternal PerspectivesI love this book! I keep putting it down after two to three chapters and then find myself picking it right back up again. There are so many quotes... and to think of all the people from way back who thought so much about Heaven. It’s a great book and I’m just getting started!  -F.B., age 90

Readers’ Responses to Heaven

HeavenOf the many books that I read through each year, perhaps none have been more influential than Heaven, by Randy Alcorn. It is an amazing work that answers numerous questions on the topic of the afterlife.
I look forward to worshipping now more than ever. I have a greater desire for evangelism, telling others of Christ not out of fear for their torment but out of a desire that they experience the glory of Heaven and God for themselves. —J.T.
