This amazing four-minute slow motion video, excerpted from a TED Talk, shows what happens in God’s world that we normally don’t get to see at all, and virtually never in this way. 

As a grandfather of five boys, mothered by my wonderful daughters, I very much enjoyed this short meditation on little boys and toads.

For the present, by God’s grace and kindness, people can reject God but still receive the benefits of His common grace, including the enjoyment of loving relationships, natural and artistic beauty, and pleasure. However, we live on borrowed time. We need to see creation as a revelation of God’s greatness and beauty, and turn to the great God and Savior, our Creator and Redeemer, before our lives here end.

Perhaps because many environmental and animal-rights activists scorn the Bible and Christian beliefs, I believe Christians have often overreacted and ignored our stewardship job description when it comes to animals.

Personally, I think it is marvelous that the universe is so vast and that God is said to have created it with His fingers. Effortless. No big thing. "He made the stars also" (Genesis 1:14), like a universe 150 billion light years across. If we could wrap our mind around the vastness of creation, it might make us think that it is small and we are bigger than we are. The truth is that creation is incomprehensibly vast and we are indeed very small.

The celestial heavens declare God's glory (Psalm 19). There is so much we don't know, but astronomers are always discovering something new for which God deserves the credit. Here's one of the latest.

In a sermon titled “God Rejoicing in the New Creation,” Charles Spurgeon said this: "If a man thinks that what God has made is not very good, he cannot be very good himself. In this he contradicts his God. It is a beautiful world we live in."
