After I posted one of my blogs about Love Wins, I received the following heartfelt letter from a seminary student which I really appreciated.
I’m writing this while returning from ICRS, the annual Christian book convention. I’m sitting in the Atlanta airport, reflecting on some of my conversations the past four days. I did many interviews about recent and forthcoming books, and talked with lots of evangelical booksellers, publishers, and authors.
I spoke about Mark Galli’s God Wins in the previous blog. (The ebook is now available on Amazon.) Today I’ll deal with Francis Chan’s Erasing Hell, another response to Rob Bell’s Love Wins. Then I’ll compare Chan’s book to Galli’s.

God Wins is a response to Rob Bell’s book Love Wins.
In his article, "Is God a Monster?", Tommy Clayton puts his finger on the unpopular doctrine of Hell. We need to realize that when God wants our opinion on truth He will ask. And He never has. God hasn't given us a vote. He calls upon us to trust Him. He wants our submision, not our advice.
Francis Chan is addressing the Hell debate, an ancient controversy sparked again recently by Rob Bell’s Love Wins. (See my previous blog posts on Love Wins.) I deeply appreciate Francis Chan. He’s the real deal. I love his heart and his head and his books and his life.
Recently I’ve been going back over hundreds of pages of notes and quotations that I compiled over years of research, but have never used in any of my books on Heaven. I came across this one from Spiros Zodhiates, taking from his book Life After Death.
This is my third and possibly last blog on this subject. But given its importance to the gospel of Christ and the health of Christ’s body, I make no promises.
Someone placed my Friday blog on their site. A journalist who read it posted this response: “Alcorn's piece has a pretty major error of fact in the post. It's in this statement: ‘every human being will ultimately be saved, and that none will experience Hell.’ That's not what Bell says in Love Wins.”
I mentioned in an earlier post Rob Bell’s book Love Wins. I read it several weeks ago. It contains some good and accurate things here and there, but unfortunately its central message is in explicit contradiction to Scripture and historic Christianity.
