Can spiritual battles and demonic attacks exist in our dreams?
Demon assault can be very real. They took on Paul and Jesus, so it's not necessarily a matter of some sin that's giving entrance, as many say.

I’ve read books that talk a lot about demons, and what they say. Can we trust what they say?
I have read books by Christians who offer insights on demons that go way beyond Scripture. Usually this is based on personal experiences. Some have gotten a good deal of “information” from being present at exorcisms.
One of the things that is most remarkable—and I believe that years ago I read statements from Neil Anderson to this effect—is when a Christian writer argues that something is true of demons or ...
To those wishing to explore a biblical perspective on demonic nature and activity, as well as spiritual warfare, Randy recommends these books:
3 Crucial Questions about Spiritual Warfare, by Clinton Arnold (Baker Books, 1997).
Lord Foulgrin’s Letters, by Randy Alcorn
So, the answer to your original question is summed up in the statement “seared in their own conscience as with a branding iron.” Satan is so delusional that, in his blinding hatred opposing God, he willingly fulfills God’s decree as it is plainly revealed and known by him. The devil cannot oppose God more vigorously than the way described in the final chapter of God’s plan in Revelation. He thus willingly charges into the face of sure defeat fully confident of victory. Such is the nature of evil.
It is unthinkable to me that God would allow one of His children, whom He purchased with the blood of Christ (1Peter 1:18-19) and made into a new creation (2Cor 5:17) — to be possessed and controlled by a demon.
This is a question and answer concerning prayer and angelic warfare portrayed in Randy Alcorn's books Deadline, Dominion and Edge of Eternity.
Originally I intended the following to be the Introduction to Lord Foulgrin's Letters. Later I decided to shift it to the back of the book, realizing some readers would want to dive straight into the story without explanation.
I've been wanting to ask you a question for a long time now. In your work, you make it clear that you don't believe that Satan can read our thoughts. Yet I often feel that he's not only reading mine, but in response to them, he's immediately whispering things into my brain. He also constantly distracts me when I pray, etc. Could you mention any Scripture backing up your thoughts about this? I know you have them, but I haven't been able to locate Scripture that verifies this myself. I certainly don't want to ...
The principle of authority is that we are in the kingdom of Christ. Jesus is Lord and head of all power and authority. Satan has absolutely no legitimate authority over the believer. We are free from Satan’s claims upon us. All sins are forgiven, all condemnation is ended, all cultic vows, promises, covenants, etc., were broken when a person comes into Christ's sphere of authority (Col. 1:13-14; 2:9-15). One must never compromise this principle by saying that sin gives a demon legal right to invade a believer or attach itself to your soul. Believe in God; disbelieve Satan.
