It seems you have already sentenced each person to their final spot, prior to Christ doing the sentencing. What am I missing?
I agree that there is a final judgment, but Scripture shows that there is also an immediate comfort in heaven or suffering in hell at the point of death.

If when we die we are judged and go immediately to the intermediate Heaven as Randy states, how can Revelation 20:5 be true?
If when we die we are judged and go immediately to the intermediate Heaven as Randy states, how can Revelation 20:5 be true? This verse is talking about the transition period between the intermediate and the Eternal Heaven. Verse 5 is pre-eternal Heaven.
There are several scriptures that point to the fact that when a believer dies he is immediately in the presence of the Lord. 2 Corinthians 5:8 says “to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord.” In Philippians 1:23, Paul talks about his “desire to depart and be with ...

Will Old Testament saints appear before the judgment seat of Christ?
Question from a reader:
Will Old Testament saints appear before the judgment seat of Christ? If not, is there a similar judgment they will appear before?
Answer from Randy Alcorn:
The word "Christ" in the "judgment seat of Christ," means "Messiah, the anointed one." Since Christ is the judge and king, very likely he is the member of the Godhead that OT saints would stand before.
There is not an explicit statement but it makes sense that he would conduct the judgment of OT saints as well as NT saints.

Eternal Rewards
ETERNAL REWARDS
It is my happiness that I have served Him who never fails to reward His servants to the full extent of His promise. – John Calvin
Consider, to provoke you to good works, that you shall have from God, when you come to glory, a reward for everything you do for him on earth.
Whatever good thing you do for Him, if done according to the Word, is laid up for you as treasure in chests and coffers, to be brought out to be rewarded before both men and angels, to your eternal comfort. — John Bunyan
He who provides for this life but takes no care for eternity is wise for a moment but a fool forever. — John Tillotson

Do you believe that all sin is alike to God and no sin is greater than another in his eyes?
The widely believed notion “all sin is alike” is not grounded in Scripture. All sin is bad, of course—all sin crucified Jesus. But it’s a myth that all sin is the same to God. Think of 1 Corinthians 6 and “all other sins” versus “he who sins sexually” and Proverbs where the seven deadly sins singled out, and elder qualifications with some sins that disqualify and others not mentioned.
Scripture is clear on the fact that there is greater judgment on sin that falls upon some than others. All unbelievers will stand before Christ for judgment. This judgment ...
