Jesus wants all of you. He came to set you free. He said so in John 8:36. What you’ve written sounds like anything but freedom. 

I’ve heard people say, “We don’t need more head knowledge in the church today; we need heart knowledge.” But the problem is not that we know too much! The head and the heart should not be pitted against each other. We need both. Bruce Ware says, “If you don’t have it in your head, you can’t have it in your heart.”

Someone wrote our ministry to ask, “Is it permissible for a Christian to occasionally enjoy erotic reading? (I'm not talking about anything violent.)" This person’s question was answered by Karen Coleman, an EPM staff member now with Jesus. I appreciate her wise and winsome response. 

Biblical thinking says, “I come to grips with the negatives in life, and not by denying them.” 

What I think about myself is important. We all have a self-image. But not all self-images are equally valid.

Earlier this year, I spent a wonderful and exhausting four days at Biola University. I was certainly familiar with Biola by reputation, but my experience there exceeded expectations. 

Over the years, a number of people have told me, “We shouldn’t think about Heaven. We should just think about Jesus.”
