Like many of you, I do not enjoy the political turmoil, including in the church, that will only get worse as the presidential election gets closer. However, we should be trusting God no matter what happens. As Psalm 25:15 says, “My eyes are continually toward Yahweh.” 

Long before it was ever a divisive political issue in our country, abortion was a moral issue, and one which God has a clear and emphatic position on. I encourage you to consider what God’s Word says about unborn children, and what the people of God throughout history have said about abortion.

In many ways, Randy’s focus on writing about eternity stems from the belief that we, as the Western Church, have been asleep when it comes to living for what’s of eternal value and ultimate significance.

This election year, many of us are already finding the political commentary and news exhausting. Never have God’s people needed the reminder more that the key to influence and change in this world is not, and never has been, politics. It is faithfulness to Jesus.

Your question about whether Christians should donate to political campaigns is an interesting one. I don’t think there’s a clear “yes” or “no” answer, as this seems to come down to wisdom and asking the Lord for direction.

When I was emailing with a friend recently about the issues surrounding the election, she shared the encouragement she has found in Hebrews 12:25-29, which talks about God's unshakeable kingdom.

Like many of you, I am not looking forward to all the political turmoil, including in the church, that is sure to come as the presidential election gets closer. At the same time, this is an excellent opportunity for God’s people to determine where our hope is placed.

By now you’ve probably read and heard all sorts of commentaries analyzing this week’s midterm election results. Whatever your political leanings, you’ve likely been encouraged by some results and discouraged by others. But no matter the results, here’s a perspective we should always remember: America may or may not unravel in coming decades, but God’s kingdom certainly won’t!

The election is over, but the truth is that every season of our lives is election season.
