As he did in his best-selling book, Heaven, Randy Alcorn delves deep into a profound subject, and through compelling stories, provocative questions and answers, and keen biblical understanding, he brings assurance and hope to all.
Every one of us will experience suffering. Many of us are experiencing it now. As we have seen in recent years, evil is real in our world, present and close to each one of us.
In such difficult times, suffering and evil beg questions about God—Why would an all-good and all-powerful God create a world full of evil and suffering? And then, how can there be a God if suffering and evil exist?
These are ancient questions, but also modern ones as well. Atheists such as Richard Dawkins, Christopher Hitchens, and even former believers like Bart Ehrman answer the question simply: The existence of suffering and evil proves there is no God.
In this captivating book, best-selling author Randy Alcorn challenges the logic of disbelief, and brings a fresh, realistic, and thoroughly biblical insight to the issues these important questions raise.
Alcorn offers insights from his conversations with men and women whose lives have been torn apart by suffering, and yet whose faith in God burns brighter than ever. He reveals the big picture of who God is and what God is doing in the world—now and forever. And he equips you to share your faith more clearly and genuinely in this world of pain and fear.
As he did in his best-selling book, Heaven, Randy Alcorn delves deep into a profound subject, and through compelling stories, provocative questions and answers, and keen biblical understanding, he brings assurance and hope to all.

What’s the difference between The Goodness of God and If God Is Good?
The Goodness of God is a specially focused condensation of If God Is Good, which also includes additional new material. It's perfect for those who want a book that contains the heart of the material from If God Is Good in a shorter book.

Dear Randy:
I just finished reading your book, "If God is Good..." All that I can say is thank you, thank you, thank you.
I was humbled and convicted so many times while reading it. It has given me a fresh, Biblical view of evil and suffering. It ultimately pointed me to Christ and His sovereignty over all of His creation.
My wife and I ordered a case of these books from your ministry to give away and invite others to join us for a small group study this coming fall on the topic of evil, suffering and the Christian.
I also look forward to your coming to Minneapolis in October and speaking at the Desiring God conference.
May God continue to bless you and your ministry.

I am an avid reader of Randy's books, the latest of which I have almost completed. "If God is Good" is the most comprehensive explanation of the issue(s) that I have ever read or heard. The pages of my book are covered with yellow highlights, underlines, and notes in the margins.

I have been suffering with skin diseases/disorders that are parasitic in nature since 2007 and I have formulated questions and perspectives that are biblical thanks to Randy's new book "If God is Good." Ironically, I saw the book only 3 days after it's release on 8/13 and I had no idea that he was writing this book. He even covered Joni Ereakson Tada and the young lady who had her arm bitten off by a shark who could still give glory to God through their ailments. I uphold these 2 ladies (among others) as heroines of God's grace and faith in the midst of suffering. Also, it also answered some of my questions like, "Did God allow my or someone else's suffering or did he cause it?" I think there's a fine line between the two, but ultimately it always works out to the example of Joseph and every other Christian who shares in sufferings, "God works all things out for the good of those who love God..."
Dear Randy,
I am so grateful for your faithfulness in developing and using your gifts in service to Jesus! I believe that God is Good should be a part of every disciple's training program. I have been walking with the Lord for several years and have struggled many of the issues you so thoroughly addressed in this book. I am eternally grateful for the encouragement, clarification, and equipping this book has given me.
See you in Heaven if not before!
