My best friend and I had a divine appointment not long ago—through a series of unusual circumstances. I told the person we met, “This is no accident that we are here talking with you. God had this planned. He does things like that. This is what we call a divine appointment.”

I confess I grow weary of some believers’ responses to good news, especially related to evangelism. Instead of believing the best, as Christians sometimes we seem to chronically believe the worst. I remember the negative responses I received years ago when I shared a follow-up report on my Facebook about “Harvest America,” Greg Laurie’s crusade in Texas.

Isn’t there something more important than how many doors you knocked on or event invites you’ve distributed? Like getting to know people?

I’ve shared Jesus with people on sidewalks, planes, and tennis courts. Some friends think I’m a natural-born evangelist. But I’m not! Evangelism can be uncomfortable, but God doesn’t call us to be comfortable.

To me, there are not many joys comparable to that of leading someone to Christ. It’s thrilling and exhilarating.  May we all continually ask the Lord to give us opportunities to share His “good news of great happiness” (Luke 2:10).

Many people, including myself, regularly give away booklets. It doesn’t take much effort, and when it does, it’s more than worth it.
