Our ministry’s main concern is that we’re on shaky ground when we begin basing our doctrine or beliefs about Heaven on the subjective experiences of other people (especially when these stories have often ended up marketed in books).

Your concern for others is commendable. You can be at peace knowing that once you have placed your faith in Jesus and His work on the cross and in resurrection on your behalf, your actions cannot “jeopardize” His covenant with you.

We recommend Jinger Vuolo’s book Becoming Free Indeed. She explains the problematic legalistic teachings, and also mentions Gothard’s moral failings.

God uses our suffering in this broken world, in many forms (including infertility and grief), to conform us to His image and to cause us to place our hope in Him alone. Only He can bring beauty out of such ashes.

Something radical and transformative happens when someone chooses to follow Christ; Jesus calls it being born again (John 3:3). While salvation is 100% His work, and we can’t contribute to it, as a joyful result of being His disciples, we are called to take up our cross and follow Jesus daily.

Randy writes, “Even under the Curse, we’ve been able to explore the moon, and we have the technology to land on Mars. What will we be able to accomplish for God’s glory when we have resurrected minds, unlimited resources, complete scientific cooperation, and no more death?”
