We need to think in terms of what choices we are making that are exposing us to impurity. I can’t just magically snap my fingers and expect that I’m not going to face sexual temptation. 

It’s a huge job, and fathers need encouragement. One of the things I think about is what Scripture says in 1 Thessalonians 2:12.

Before creatures ever came into the equation, what was God like? His basic persona and His character, that’s who He is.

When the hard things come upon us, we tend to use them as a way of saying, “This is so bad, that if God really is in charge and He sent this to me—or even just allowed this to come into my life—He’s being cruel to me.” 

That’s a great question. I think there’s a couple of different strategies. 

Randy Alcorn suggests that a great approach to evangelism is asking people if they would like to know what the Bible actually says about Heaven as opposed to the myths we believe.
