I don't deal with election in the Heaven book, though I do believe in election, since the Bible teaches it. Election does not change the default destination issue. All are conceived and born in sin; that is the sense in which our default destination is hell. 

I have always enjoyed reading books of well-chosen quotations on interesting subjects.

There are so many things for Nanci and me to be thankful for this year. We’ve talked about how grateful we are for our family—we have two daughters who are married to godly men, as well as four grandchildren already born and the fifth one on his way. 

In November 2011, Randy Alcorn had an interview at Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside, California, with Greg Laurie. They discussed the topics of Heaven and suffering and evil. When I was researching Heaven, I read 150 volumes on the subject, many long out-of-print. Since the book came out I’ve read a dozen more.

Believers periodically tell me versions of the following: “We shouldn’t be thinking about reunion with loved ones, or the joys of Heaven. We should only be thinking about being united with Christ, who is our only treasure.”
