I mentioned Football Sunday in a blog a few weeks ago, but it's still not too late for your church to use some or all of the resources to make Super Bowl Sunday a day of outreach and spiritual growth. The video can also be used in any home watching the game. One great idea is to use it as a positive alternative to the halftime show! 

I’m praying for quarterback Nick Foles, that he would be in the eye of the hurricane, experiencing the peace of Jesus. Nick turned 29 last week, so this is a lot of pressure on a young man, but he’s humble and grounded, and I know from interactions with him yesterday that God is giving him great peace. 

There are many Christ-followers in the NFL, more than most people are aware. Through the ministry of Pro Athletes Outreach (PAO), in the past few years I’ve been able to speak to and meet hundreds of them, and develop personal relationship with several dozen. 

“Whoever trusts in the LORD, happy is he” (Proverbs 16:20). This is why I can be happy in Jesus tonight even though my favorite team lost the Super Bowl in the final moments. :)

If every player on one team were an atheist and everyone on the other loved Jesus, I would never assume that the team with the believers would win!
