Joni Eareckson Tada

There are few people who I admire more than Joni Eareckson Tada. This recent article by her is so beautifully written, and just so Joni.

Jesus promised that in Heaven, those who endured difficult things on Earth would be comforted for them (Luke 16:25). The comfort implies memory of what happened. If we had no memory of the difficult things, why would we need comfort? How would we feel it?

One of my goals in life is exactly the same as yours. I don’t want to be a hypocrite. Every day I want to shorten the distance between that which I process and that which I actually live. I want no gaps between my “talk” and my “walk.” It’s why I’d like to repeat every day for the next month, this “Test for Self-Evaluation,” proposed by John Wesley.

Are you bored? Anxious? Toying with temptation? Looking for something new, exciting or enticing to satisfy some inner craving? Listen to those wants. They show you what you really desire: “...God is the answer to our deepest longings” I Corinthians 6:13 (Phillips).

Living in isolation, lacking simple mobility and cut off from life, many of the disabled are also tragically cut off from the local church.

If you want to increase your desire for God, then get to know him in a deeper way.

Lord, your no answer to physical healing meant yes to a deeper healing

I desire, I want to be a jewel that does not cringe if God chooses to give my soul a hard scrubbing every now and then.
