The following are notes and overhead transparencies developed by Randy Alcorn and used in his Contemporary Social Ethics class.

Conservatism is popular among American evangelicals. In the moral realm that encourages me. In the political realm, I have mixed feelings.

 Tailor your presentation to your audience, so you’re speaking to them, not yourself.

“My sheep listen to my voice,” Jesus said. Have you been listening to his voice lately? Have you been putting your ear to his Word and asking him to speak to you?

As a teacher and parent, I am deeply troubled by what has happened to our schools, but what worries me even more is what our schools will be like when today’s students become tomorrow’s teachers and professors.

“Rescuing” is a united action in which people peacefully place their bodies in front of the entrances of an abortion clinic. The purpose is to prevent access to the clinic, and to thereby save the lives of unborn children who would otherwise be killed shortly after their mothers enter the building.

To overcome stress you must either change your circumstances or your perceptions. You can change some circumstances, of course, but many you cannot.  

We do not long for non-body, non-earth and non-culture, but for new body, New Earth, and new culture—without sin and death. This is all part of longing for the resurrection, which is at the heart and soul of the Christian faith (1 Corinthians 15).
