While Scripture does not address every given situation in any place and time, Jesus does give us a twofold guiding ethical principle that can be applied in every situation. 

If we want our words to have lasting value and impact, they need to be touched and shaped by God’s words. 

Why do we love great stories? Because they are pictures of the greatest story. 

There is no sin Christ didn’t die for, no sin He cannot forgive, and therefore no sin that we, in His strength, cannot forgive.

I would encourage you to continue to saturate your mind with Scripture throughout your waking hours and pray honestly to God about your dreams, continually asking for His grace and mercy to purify your mind.

Like many readers I spend some time on Facebook—enough to have seen it at its best and worst. 

First, realize that fifty isn’t old, neither is sixty. Seventy and eighty don’t have to be old either. Your mindset is much more important than your age. 

Everyone who tries to live the Christian life fails. I’ve failed. Randy has failed. But God doesn’t reject us when we fail; He helps us grow. You expressed there are many things keeping you from the life God wants for you. God wants your life to be full of hope, love, peace, grace and forgiveness and so much more. 

There was once a time in the early years of our faith when we couldn’t get enough. We had a voracious hunger for truth. We lived with the humbling realization that there was so much we didn’t know. We loved to study the Word of God. We loved listening to peers and mentors who were further along. We were students.

Remember when you were a child, how hours at a time were lost in the joy of play—discovering trees and trails and caterpillars and the new friend on the block? 

One of the things I often do is give away books and booklets to people I meet. Wonderful things have happened over the years because of this simple act.

The Israelites in the wilderness are unbearably similar to us. When their circumstances are good, they see God. 

The Greek word for worry means literally “to divide the mind.” The worried mind is a torn, and therefore worn, mind.

We tend to be passionate about things that don’t matter, fanatics and fans about what won’t last. But we are afraid to look like fanatics for Jesus.
