I highly recommend Kevin DeYoung's book What Does the Bible Really Teach about Homosexuality? He has an appendix on gay marriage that's terrific. Kevin posted it recently in his always excellent blog and I want to draw attention to it because both the book and this small appendix are really worth reading and discussing in our churches.

Given President Obama’s recent comments in support of gay marriage, we wanted to provide some resources for you to read and consider as you have conversations  with others about this topic.

It is very hard to communicate on this subject with both grace and truth. I oppose gay marriage, but not only as a matter of righteousness, but also because it is deadly to those involved in it. 

Last week, same sex couples were married all over California. The future is predictable. Streams of people will come from all over the country to be married in California, and then will go back to their home states and argue that their marriage licenses should be honored. What will the states decide?
