One of the many problems facing Western society is that we worship youth and make the elderly disposable. God’s perspective on the elderly is vastly different. 

You bring up a lot of Scriptures and each one deserves a thoughtful response. I will do my best to do so. That said, the Bible is a book, and like any other book, its sentences need to be read in context to understand what the author is communicating. I believe that is the main issue with the verses you cited. 

Sadly, my home state of Oregon, which I love in so many ways, legalized abortion four years before Roe v. Wade, and we were the first state, in fact the first principality in the world to legalize physician assisted suicide. As if this weren’t enough for Oregon to be famous for, last month, Governor Kate Brown signed House Bill 3391, making Oregon the only state in the U.S. without any laws that restrict or limit abortion, and one of only a handful of states that chooses to use taxpayer money to pay for elective abortions.

I’m a little taken aback that so many Christians are utterly shocked only because of the fact that this man killed some babies after they were born instead of a minute, week, month or three months earlier. As if that makes the slightest difference to the babies or to God.

What if you found that your spouse or adopted child was fathered by a rapist? Would it change your view of their worth?
