Those who follow me on Facebook might remember some pictures I posted at the end of last year, from a trip I took to Los Angeles to do some filming with Don Miller about my books Heaven and If God Is Good. 

Yesterday was the Annunciation, a Christian holy day most of us never think about. Ted Olsen, Christianity Today managing editor for news and online journalism, recently asked me my thoughts about the Annunciation and its prolife implications.

A recent commenter on my blog asked, After reading of Jesus' resurrection, and how He showed the disciples His scars on His hands as proof of who He was, my children asked if we'll have our scars in Heaven, too. What do you think?

Someone recently showed me an article from a reputable Christian magazine that stated we will not have physical bodies in the future heaven, based on an (incorrect) understanding of the reference in 1 Corinthians 15 to a “spiritual body".

This story, by an unknown author, was ciruclated years ago. It is likely fictional, as many such stories are, but think of it as a parable.  

Here is Steve Harvey, a comedian, addressing a secular audience at the end of his routine. The question is, “How Would You Introduce Christ to a Room Full of People?" I’m not vouching for Steve Harvey in every respect (I’m unfamiliar with him), but I love this.  

Our future resurrection is solidly grounded on Christ's past resurrection. No wonder the devil is so adamantly opposed to Easter, and the historicity of Christ's resurrection, and all it means (including Satan's doom).

A. W. Tozer wrote "Every soul belongs to God, and exists by His pleasure. God being who and what He is and we being who and what we are, the only thinkable relation between us is one of full Lordship on His part and complete submission on ours."  

Usually here in my part of Oregon there are more mighty downpours than great snows. But my brother Lance and I, who've lived here all our lives, were just agreeing that this is the most snow we've seen since 1968, forty years ago.

Now, the man in the picture is not a Christmas shepherd, but Joel Stein, a prominent columnist for The Los Angeles Times. He’s written features for Time magazine, and has impressive journalistic credentials. He says this of himself on the front page of his website: “I’m the guy who loves porn and hates America.” He’s known for his column where he said he not only opposes the war in Iraq, he opposes U.S. troops. Clearly he’s a man who says what he thinks.
