Today, September 15, is the release date of my new book If God Is Good. I hope you’ve had the chance to read some of the excerpts from the book that have been posted over the last few weeks.

I wrote If God Is Good because the question of suffering and evil is the most commonly raised and perplexing problem there is. It’s unusual to have serious prolonged interactions about believing in God, with either believers or unbelievers, without them raising it.  

My new book If God Is Good addresses what is arguably the greatest issue in human history: the problem of evil and suffering.

Randy Alcorn spoke to a group of young moms at Mom to Mom at his local church, Good Shepherd Community Church on various topics. In this clip, Randy explains the difference between his books Heaven and 50 Days of Heaven. 

Over years of biblical study, my view of resurrection and the eternal Heaven (and to a lesser degree, the intermediate Heaven) gradually changed. 

The popular notion of the “sweet by and by” is often one of clouds, pain-free bliss and not much else—except for the occasional angel floating by with a harp. If one’s idea of eternity is a happy pill, such an image might be appealing.

I give away lots of books to people I come across, believing God gives me divine appointments every day.

The day the first shipment of Heaven for Kids was delivered, Nanci and I drove to someone’s house that we’d never been to before or since. When we pulled up, outside the house next door a boy about ten years old was sitting on the curb. 

Here’s a photo I took Saturday on Mount Lassen, at about 7,000 feet. The lake, the flowers, the sky—beauty popping up out of barrenness, all declaring God’s glory.  

Tell Me About Heaven is about a grandfather helping ten-year-old Jake come to terms with his grandmother’s death. Jake has all kinds of questions about Heaven, and what his grandma is doing and whether she remembers him. When he spends two weeks at his grandfather’s house out in the country, they do things together and talk about Heaven as they go.
