This article by Ray Ortlund is thought-provoking and on target. Though his advice focuses on young men in ministry, his message is applicable for every believer of every age and vocation. Ray writes, “Only men with scars can preach a Savior with scars to sinners with scars. So, in addition to the many insights and skills God will impart to you, he also will wound you."

For those who are in Christ, God’s discipline is an act of love. I appreciated these thoughts from Ray Ortlund about how Scripture demonstrates that God can be both for us, and against us.

"'Whoever walks in integrity walks securely' (Proverbs 10:9). The word 'integrity' is the key word in Proverbs 10:9. A secure walk is not a matter of clever politics but of personal integrity."
