Randy Alcorn

When we get to Heaven, one writer claims, “We will not even remember this old world we call Earth, . . . nor will we even recall it! It simply will not come into our minds.” This misperception is widely believed, but the Bible says no such thing!

Randy Alcorn had a conversation with Jeff Chamblee of The Stand Radio about his booklet Grieving with Hope. They discussed grief, hope, and the excitement of eternity.

Randy was a guest chapel speaker at Open Door Christian Academy in Troutdale, Oregon, and answered students’ questions about Heaven. He talked about the New Earth, recognizing loved ones, the passing of time in Heaven, and more.

While suffering is not good, God can use it to accomplish immeasurable good. This knowledge should give us great confidence that even when we don’t see any redemptive meaning in our suffering, God can see it.

Randy spoke at Rise City Church on his book The Treasure Principle and on the parable of the rich fool. He shared on how Christians should think about money and possessions here on Earth.

I’ve heard multiple people claim, “There are no pets in the Bible.” But that’s simply not true. In Job, the oldest book of the Bible—probably written in the days of Abraham—God asks, “Can you make a pet of Leviathan as you would a bird or put it on a leash for your girls?” (Job 41:5, NCV). This shows that birds—and no doubt other animals—were beloved pets that parents gave to their children.

Ich wuchs in einem ungläubigen Elternhaus auf und hörte als Teenager zum ersten Mal von Christus. Anfangs erschienen mir die Geschichten aus der Bibel nicht wahrer als die griechische Mythologie und die Comics, die ich liebte. Dann las ich die Evangelien und glaubte, dass Jesus wirklich gelebt hatte. Von da an waren Superhelden für mich nur noch blasse Abbilder von ihm. Als Jesus mich rettete, erlebte ich ein tiefes Glück, wie ich es nie zuvor gekannt hatte und das mich bis heute nicht losgelassen hat. Dass ich wiedergeboren wurde, Vergebung empfing und Gottes Geist in mir Wohnung nahm, machte mich von ganzem Herzen froh. „Wohl dem, dem die Übertretungen vergeben sind, dem die Sünde bedeckt ist!“ (Ps 32,1).

J’ai grandi dans une famille non-croyante, et j’ai entendu parler du Christ pour la première fois à l’adolescence. Au début, les histoires de la Bible ne me paraissaient pas plus vraies que la mythologie grecque et les bandes dessinées que j’adorais. Puis j’ai lu les Évangiles, j’ai cru que Jésus était réel, et les super-héros ne sont plus devenus que de simples ombres à ses côtés. Lorsque Jésus m’a sauvé, j’ai éprouvé un bonheur profond que je n’avais jamais connu auparavant et qui ne m’a jamais quitté depuis. Cette joie sincère était le résultat de ma nouvelle naissance, du pardon reçu et de la présence de l’Esprit de Dieu en moi. « Heureux celui à qui la transgression est remise, À qui le péché est pardonné ! » (Psaume 32:1, LSG).
