If Solomon were alive today and we were to ask him how we are to relate to one another in this digital world, if we were to ask him how we can honor God in our use of all these social media available to us today, here is how he might respond.

Randy Alcorn answered a variety of questions at the 2010 C.S. Lewis SW Regional Retreat and Writers Workshop. In this clip, he answers the question, "How can finite creatures experience eternal life?"

I think it's to probe beneath the surface into the deep longings of people, then to open a door into the invisible spiritual realm so people can see ultimate realities (including God, angels, demons, heaven and hell) with the eyes of faith and imagination.

I think it’s fine and appropriate to quote from Christian speakers and authors we have benefited from. But while gratefully acknowledging I have benefited from these men and women, I do not put them on a pedestal.

The apostle John says we know what God’s love is because of the unthinkable price Jesus paid for us, to turn us into God’s own children, fully acceptable in his sight. God’s love abounds.

I appreciated what C. S. Lewis wrote in The Four Loves about the vulnerability of love.

My friends Brett and Alex Harris, on their wonderful website www.therebelution.com, cited a Wall Street Journal article about the importance of reading, and the great decline in reading among boys. I have often cited this as one of the most alarming trends of our day.

On Friday two of our four wonderful grandsons spent the night, and we took them to their Saturday morning basketball game. Jake, the six year old scored 5-6 times, and scored last week in his first game. 

For a long time Christians were reticent to enter the field of fiction writing. Although fiction had been popular in the secular field for a long time, it was sparse in Christian publishing. 

By viewing writing as a ministry first and a vocation only second, I remind myself it's not about me, it's about Him.

Here at the EPM office, it’s always fun for our staff when Randy’s new books arrive. There’s something special about seeing a book in physical form that Randy has worked on for months.
