Just after instructing us to rejoice in the Lord (Philippians 4:4), Paul wrote in verse 6, “Do not be anxious about anything.” 

Many of us see Olympic Gold Medalist Scott Hamilton for a week or so every four years, during the winter Olympics, when he’s covering ice skating. 

Because we’re finite and unique and because we’ll never know everything, we may not agree about everything in Heaven. We’ll agree on innumerable matters and wonder how we ever thought otherwise. But we’ll still likely have different tastes in food and clothes and music and thousands of other things.

A while back, my youngest daughter Angela, early in her pregnancy, lost her baby, our sixth grandchild. So heartbreaking, so many tears. We spent seven hours with her and her family the next day, hugging my girl and talking with my grandsons about where their sister or brother is. There are no words for times like this, as most of you know. I was still up at 2 AM the next morning, pondering it all, hoping Angie was asleep.

Question from a reader: I’ve heard some up-and-coming Christian pastors say they believe in the One True God, but also other gods. Is this biblical?

Question from a reader: In another article you mentioned that in Scripture some angels have wings and some may not. Why do all of the angels in your graphic novel, Eternity, have wings?

Question from a reader: In The Goodness of God you wrote: “It’s misleading to say, ‘God created Satan and demons.’ Rather, God created Lucifer and other righteous angels, who later chose to rebel against God, and in so doing became Satan and demons… The great archangel who rebelled against his Creator is called the devil...” It seems you believe that Lucifer/Satan is or was an angel. Where in the Bible is Satan called an angel? 

I pray that God would wrap His arms around you, comfort and encourage you, and do a work of grace.

The two dominant positions on women in leadership are evangelical feminism or egalitarianism (equal and therefore the same) and complementarianism (equal but different). There is also the globally widespread position of Islam and others, in which women are seen as both different AND unequal.

Question from a reader: Is the concern over China’s one child policy because of too much government control or is it because of the injustice of child killing?

I think about Heaven a lot. Peter tells us, “you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 1:11). God is the main welcomer, no doubt, but I think there will be a welcoming committee. 

I don’t consider myself an expert on the details of the end times. It’s not my thing and I think there is too much that is highly speculative. 

What disturbs me is what I see in the large segments of the Christian community who are embracing all the justice issues that are popular in the world and promoted by rock stars and Hollywood (and I am very GRATEFUL these celebrities are using their influence in this way).
