I think it’s fine and appropriate to quote from Christian speakers and authors we have benefited from. But while gratefully acknowledging I have benefited from these men and women, I do not put them on a pedestal.

I think it's to probe beneath the surface into the deep longings of people, then to open a door into the invisible spiritual realm so people can see ultimate realities (including God, angels, demons, heaven and hell) with the eyes of faith and imagination.

The apostle John says we know what God’s love is because of the unthinkable price Jesus paid for us, to turn us into God’s own children, fully acceptable in his sight. God’s love abounds.

I appreciated what C. S. Lewis wrote in The Four Loves about the vulnerability of love.

My friends Brett and Alex Harris, on their wonderful website www.therebelution.com, cited a Wall Street Journal article about the importance of reading, and the great decline in reading among boys. I have often cited this as one of the most alarming trends of our day.
