Our unbiblical assumption that Heaven won’t be a real, tangible, earthly place blinds us to what Scripture actually says.

Living in isolation, lacking simple mobility and cut off from life, many of the disabled are also tragically cut off from the local church.

In the long dark night of suffering on earth, Jesus being seen as the morning star means the eternal morning is about to dawn. Hence, Christ as the morning star is a picture of great promise and hope.

In The Chronicles of Narnia, C. S. Lewis paints a beautiful picture of heaven in the final book, The Last Battle. The book begins with a near collision of a railroad train, where the children are thrust into Narnia. But when their adventure is over, the children are afraid they will be sent back to earth again.

As such, there are some women who may suffer serious complications if they are at risk for kidney, liver or adrenal system diseases. God is the Father of this family we enjoy. We rightly sense that our relationship with them has not been terminated, only interrupted, and we know that some day each of us will be taken from this world, in one moment separated from some we love and in the same moment reunited with others we love, and above all with our Lord.

Is this the day I die? He’d asked himself the question every day.

First, for His glory; second, for our good.

You raise some good points concerning a perhaps too casual use of the term “unconditional.” Typically a term like this is well-defined initially within a specific context, but then is repeated without the same attention to detail.

God is good. But until we understand the truth that He is not safe, that He is not under our control, until we come to grips with the truth of His uncompromising holiness, we will never begin to grasp His amazing grace.

Kate Michelman, former president of NARAL, says: “We have to remind people that abortion is the guar­antor of a woman’s... right to participate fully in the social and political life of society.” But a pregnant woman can fully participate in society. And if she can’t, isn’t the solution changing society rather than killing children?
