We are to be like the Bereans, who carefully checked the Apostle Paul’s teachings against Scripture to discern whether what he said was true (see Acts 17:11). Scripture also tells us to “test all things. Hold on to what is good” (1 Thessalonians 5:21).

Randy does think that on the New Earth, in the ages to came, we’ll learn how God answered our prayers. He writes: “We anticipate Heaven, where we’ll learn God’s breath-taking answers to our prayers, including many that seemed unheard and ignored.”

I realize not everyone gets the chance to have a final gathering with their family. But I do encourage anyone who has a terminal illness to use your remaining time to have God-honoring interactions with your loved ones and say whatever needs to be said while you still can.

If you’ve experienced the love of an animal, whether it’s from a horse, a dog, a cat, or any other kind of animal, you know it’s profoundly moving. And no wonder, since God has coupled mankind and the animal kingdom, not only through the order of creation, but also through His mandate that we govern the animals.

When Jesus told His disciples that they would rule over the tribes of Israel, it could appear to be favoritism because of the fact that they were among the twelve. But He had more in mind than that, I think.

He says it was originally in a financial sense because in biblical times, an inheritance of land meant the ability to make a living. In today’s culture, we must think about who we are helping and who are we hurting by giving financial inheritances, and who our inheritance ultimately belongs to when deciding how to steward our money.
